New York!

2nd of may

We just made it to New York, the planes took 24 hour all together. Today we're going to have breakfast in New York, we are probably going to go to a pancake place and not get large. We hope to keep up to date with our blogs but it won’t be perfect, (some will be long some won’t) We hope you all have fun at school! Sorry the date is wrong, we hope to fix the time on it soon.

Rimu surfing!

On Monday 21st March the Year 7/8s from Rimu Class went surfing for the day at Sumner Beach as their first Outdoor Challenge for the William Pike Award. I had lots of fun surfing but it was harder then I thought it would be at the beach. When we took off the wetsuits most of the boys pants were up their legs and so were mine. Rimu Class had lots of time to have fun on the waves and so many people were having fun at the beach. Here is us on the grass trying the surfing ways.

William pike and met the teacher

My class 2 weeks ago made dinner for the meet the teacher and the william pike challange. Me and joe made a banana cake with strawberry icing and all of it was gone when we came back and one of my friend ate 6 pieces, It sounds crazy but true. William lead us into the room and told us about how he got his leg gone and he kept going on his trip. He got to the top of mount Ruapehu with his leg. He got his leg gone because it got stuck on rock and mud when Mt Ruapehu was erupting. I liked hanging out with William pike and I had lots of fun going down there and l hope that the people liked my banana cake.

My Wonder essay

Our task for writing last week was to make a quick essay about what point of view we thought it was. So far the story is amazing and I am hooked in to how R.J Palacio made the story and how the people act around august and his sister, it is a amazing book I think. here is my essay.

In the book ‘Wonder’, Palacio uses the first person point of view to tell the story.

‘Wonder’ is a story about a boy who feels ordinary on the inside, but he is always reminded of how different he is by how people respond when they see him. This is R.J Palacio’s first novel and it is written in the first person, this is what I think

I think R.J Palacio uses first person perspective when she writes ‘Wonder’. I will give you 1 or 2 examples as to why I think this. Here is my first person essay.

I know Its is in first person because he said, Mon kind of stepped out of the way so” l had to move forward” When he started school he didn’t like it that much so he said this, “I can’t say I wanted to go to school”Talking about Mr Tushman With his mum on tour he thought,“He didn’t look like I pictured Though.

Conclusion

I think that first person is the story and that’s why. I hope you liked my doc and last of all I think most of it is in first person.

We are back!

Hi guys we are back for the holidays and we are in the new class room. We are already having so much fun and the holidays were awesome. We are going to have fun this term!

My Camp trip to Wellington

Well the first place we met was the train station and got on the train. I went with my class and my Dad. When we got to the ferry stop, the line took about 40 minutes to get on the ferry to got to Wellington (my home town!) When we did get there, the shuttles took us to the YHA (Youth Hostel Association) and we got our card to the doors and got up to the rooms. Jack and I got the wrong floor. On the 2nd day of camp we went and got Golden Archers and on the 3th night we got Subway and on the last night we had 15 dollars at the food court! l got a cheese burger and a Wendy's drink. It was amazing at camp. l think that if l got the chance l would do it again. Here are some pictures.
