The William Pike Challenge Award: Rock Climbing

On Monday the 20th of June Rimu class went to go rock climbing. We went to Cattlestop Crag on Port Hills on the top of Mount Pleasant Road and it had an amazing view and Rimu had so much fun up there. Instantly it was extremely cold as we stepped out of the car because the car was so warm and I was wearing shorts. Later when we got to the climbing spot we unpacked and had a snack to keep us going and 5 or 6 people got to go abseiling and the rest got to go climbing like me.

Most of the time when I was there I mainly felt happy and nervous. The view was amazing and we saw lots. When we had done all of the climbing and abseiling we had lunch and started to pack up to go home. At the end of the day I got to do 4 climbs and abseiling I was so exhausted by 3:00.

In the end we had an amazing day and I feel like i ticked something off my bucket list. I know my friends had a good time up in the clouds. I think one of my best times up there was when I turned and saw the view from the top of a climb. One of my favorite climbs was the hardest one that I went on because of how hard it was and that made me feel proud of myself.

The William pike Challenge is amazing and it is lots of fun. It was made so younger people can have a challenge and go outdoors. We get to do lots of cool things like rock climbing, surfing, hiking and more! So if you like the sound of it go check it out http://williampike.co.nz/the-william-pike-challenge-award/
